Contact me for address... and bring beer or something. Cheers! ROLLOWEEN (the Halloween wheelchair costume project) Tuesday, September 11, 2018 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM ROLLOWEEN: Calling all DuctTapers! The legwork has been done and it’s now time to share the workload (who can do what): Émile’s dragon castle will be built in Bob’s workshop (that’s me, with anyone who wants to lend a hand), and Concordia’s taking care of the 3D printed dragon scales and the tech aspects of the build. We need people who can pattern and who know their way around a sewing machine for a waist-up, Velcro-fitted outfit, onto which the plastic dragon scales will be attached. Who’s up for this? We’ll discuss it all (and more... there’s always more!) at Hurley’s this coming Tuesday. Hurley's Irish Pub 1225 Rue Crescent, QC H3G 2B1 · Montréal, QC ROLLOWEEN (the Halloween wheelchair costume project) Tuesday, October 9, 2018 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM ROLLOWEEN: Calling all DuctTapers! The project is going amazingly well, with several of us working on the different aspects of the build: the castle, the dragon’s head, the costume, the wings, etc. Time to get together to discuss what we’ve accomplished and what’s yet to do... and share a pint! Hurley's Irish Pub 1225 Rue Crescent, QC H3G 2B1 · Montréal, QC ROLLOWEEN extra: Live interview on CBC Montreal’s Daybreak Monday, September 10, 2018 6:10 AM to 6:25 AM An event you can attend while waiting for your coffee! Our buddy Émile and DuctTapers Anonymous’ Bob will be live on CBC’s Daybreak Montreal at around 6:10, discussing the Rolloween wheelchair costume project.‬ CBC Radio in on 88.5FM ROLLOWEEN (the Halloween wheelchair costume project) Tuesday, September 25, 2018 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM ROLLOWEEN: Calling all DuctTapers! We've started working as a team to create Émile's Halloween costume: Chad the dragon. Presently, Michelle and Maude are working on the costume, Bora and Sylvain are working on the 3D-printed elements, the dragon's head, and the tech stuff, while Ed, Tito, and Bob are building the castle. This meetup is to brainstorm, share our progress, along with a pint. As always, all are welcome to join us at any time. Hurley's Irish Pub 1225 Rue Crescent, QC H3G 2B1 · Montréal, QC The Halloween Wheelchair Costume Project Tuesday, August 28, 2018 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM There's an amazing group of people in the U.S. participating in a program called Magic Wheelchair, where physically disabled children have custom-built Halloween costumes fitted onto their wheelchairs. Well, the good folks at Concordia's Makerspace have found a recipient for a locally-crafted costume. So who's with us to build one of these beauties and make a child absolutely freak out this Halloween? We're still pretty much at square one on this, so any ideas - and all talents - are more than welcome. Hurley's Irish Pub 1225 Rue Crescent, QC H3G 2B1 · Montréal, QC The Halloween Wheelchair Costume Project Tuesday, August 14, 2018 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM This could be our first collaboration! There's a program in the U.S. called Magic Wheelchair where physically disabled children have custom-built Halloween costumes fitted to their wheelchairs (look them up, it's quite amazing). Who amongst you would be with me to build one of these beauties and make a child absolutely freak out next Halloween? Details? None for the moment. All I have is this idea and my workshop where we can work at our own pace. Hurley's Irish Pub 1225 Rue Crescent, QC H3G 2B1 · Montréal, QC Calling all DuctTapers: A visit to Montreal's Helios Makerspace Thursday, June 21, 2018 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Hello fellow DuctTapers, and welcome aboard! As our very first Meetup (and let’s-get-some-serious-handshaking-done) event, Montreal’s Helios Makerspace is thrilled to show off their workspaces, their tools, equipment, and their incomparable joie de vivre. They’ll be hosting an open house this coming Thursday evening and we’re invited — one and all — to join them. Helios has a wood shop, they’ve got 3D printing and laser cutting facilities, they do electronics, sewing… you name it. They’re on Saint-Ferdinand in the Saint-Henri district, just west of the Atwater Market. I’ll be the guy with the duct tape name tag. With Bob written on it, of course. And I’ll see you there! Cheers! Helios Makerspace 137 Rue Saint-Ferdinand #223 · Montreal, qc
